External Partnerships

To advance its work, the Observatory has established formal partnerships with the UN Environment Programme, the World Health Organization, and the Centre Scientifique de Monaco.  Our partnerships with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Health Organization (WHO) give us critical access to the United Nations system and allow us to disseminate our findings at the highest level globally. For example, in March 2023, we were provided the opportunity to present our findings on Plastics and Human Health to UNEP and WHO at their headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

Our partnership with the Centre Scientifique de Monaco and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation aligns us with a small, but deeply respected city-state, a member of the UN General Assembly, whose leader, Prince Albert II, is deeply committed to combatting climate change, preserving the earth’s environment and protecting the ocean.

External Support

The Global Observatory on Pollution and Health has been successful in generating grant funding from external sources to support our work. To date, this support has been provided on a project-by-project basis by the UN Environment Programme, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the Barr Foundation, the Owsley Brown II Family Foundation, the A-Team Foundation, and the Heinz Endowments. Total grant funding raised since 2018 is cover $3 million.Â
