Artist training, as in all life's endeavors, requires ongoing commitment; training that reinforces technique, feeds creativity and pushes boundaries.
Louise is a still life painter. Simple and familiar objects have always been a great source of inspiration and are a continuing theme in her work.
Her structured training includes -
Brisbane Institute of Art 2004 - 2008
Winter School, National Art School NSW 2012
Artworkshops Australia 2016
Annual Artists Retreat -
Louise has an ongoing collaboration with a informal artists collective. The group of six artists are accomplished in each of their chosen medium or subject. Their week together is an annual pilgrimage to a different spot in Australia where the opportunity to refresh, exchange ideas, discuss and focus on their art can take place.
The past two decades has taken the group to Tenterfield, Hill End in outback New South Wales, coastal villages Yamba and Seal Rocks, Stradbroke Island,Perisher in the Snowy Mountains, the vineyards of both Victoria's Mornington Peninsular and NSW Hunter Valley, the Sunshine Coast hinterland and Sydney's old 'Coal Loader'.
In her last exhibition 'Simply Still Life' we could see the influences of her recent time spent in Portugal through the works Red and Orange, Memories of Monchique and Essence of Portugal.
Her work at the Winter School National Art School when completed became Still Life with Fruit , now in a Private Collection.
